Purpose: In this webinar, we will summarize why palliative care might be more necessary but less accessible for LGBTQ people. We will review the evidence from a number of studies, care and bereavement experiences, and ongoing work. Evidence-based recommendations for better LGBTQ palliative care will be presented, and we will then facilitate discussion with participants to identify challenges and solutions to use in practice.

- Examine evidence-based recommendations for better LGBTQ palliative care
- Discuss challenges and solutions in local settings
Target Audience: Registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses with a specialty in palliative care/hospice, pharmacists, allied health professionals, fellows, residents, and medical students
Criteria for Successful Completion:
- Attendance at entire session
- Submission of completed evaluation form
- Successful completion of a posttest (80% for social workers)
