Purpose: This webinar will review communication skills needed for the clinical practice of palliative care and end-of-life nursing care.

Objectives:

  1. Describe mindfulness processes that nurses can use in preparation for skillful clinical communication
  2. List three techniques that are used to structure skillful clinical communication
  3. Identify three benefits of using skilled communication techniques

Target Audience: Nursing administrators and managers, nurses, and healthcare coaches

Criteria for Successful Completion:

  1. Attendance at entire session
  2. Submission of completed evaluation form
  3. Successful completion of a posttest (70% passing grade)

Continuing Education Credits: 1.0

Nurses: MJHS Institute for Innovation in Palliative Care is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Northeast Multistate Division Education Unit, an accredited approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Case Managers: This program has been pre-approved by The Commission for Case Manager Certification to provide continuing education credit to CCM® board certified case managers. The course is approved for 1.0 CE contact hour.
