Purpose: This webinar aims to enhance the knowledge of professionals about factors that may influence the grief process and creative ways to assist the bereaved to express their grief experience.
- Recognize factors that can impact the grief process
- Improve ability to monitor external factors that may be impairing the grieving process
- Discuss three art directives to use with the bereaved to enhance expression of their personal grief experience
Target Audience: Nurse practitioners, registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses with a specialty in palliative care/hospice, social workers, allied health professionals, and creative art therapists
Criteria for Successful Completion:
- Attendance at entire session
- Submission of completed evaluation form
- Successful completion of a posttest; 80% passing grade (mandatory to receive CE credit for social workers)

Nurses: The MJHS Institute for Innovation in Palliative Care is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Northeast Multistate Division Education Unit, an accredited approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Social Workers: MJHS Institute for Innovation in Palliative Care is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0242.
Music Therapists: Bereavement: Unmasking and Expressing the Contributing Factors That Affect How One Grieves is an Essential Part of the Hospice Team is approved by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) for 1 Continuing Music Therapy Education credit. The MJHS Institute for Innovation in Palliative Care, Provider Number 150, maintains responsibility for program quality and adherence to CBMT policies and criteria.
Completion of this course does not ensure that the participant is currently a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC). Verify music therapy board certification status at www.cbmt.org.
