Purpose: To strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration in wound care by building a shared understanding of wound dressing categories, their functions, and the clinical reasoning behind product selection—equipping physicians and nurses to choose cost effective dressings aligned with the wound etiology, wound characteristics, and goals of care, while supporting social workers in identifying psychosocial, caregiver, and resource related factors that influence adherence, comfort, and overall wound management outcomes.

Objectives:

1. Review wound dressing categories and functions
2. Empower team members in choosing an appropriate cost-effective wound dressing based on the wound etiology and wound characteristics
3. Select an appropriate wound dressing, whether wound healing or palliation is the goal

Target Audience: Primary care providers, nurse practitioners, palliative care specialists, pain specialists, registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses with a specialty in palliative care/hospice, social workers, allied health professionals, fellows, residents, and medical students

Criteria for Successful Completion:

1. Attendance at the entire session (Dial-in/audio-only phone connections are not accepted)
2. Submission of completed evaluation form

Physicians: The AAFP has reviewed MJHS 2026-2027 Interprofessional Webinar Series, and deemed it acceptable for AAFP credit. Term of approval is from 09/10/2026 to 08/31/2027. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
