Purpose: The goal of this palliative care webinar is to expand upon best practices in opioid therapy for pain in those with serious illness, with a focus on breakthrough pain, opioid titration, and opioid rotation.
- Implement best practices in the initiation of opioid therapy in patients with chronic pain related to serious illness
- Manage breakthrough pain using opioid rescue doses
- Implement best practices in opioid titration and rotation
Target Audience: Nursing administrators and managers, nurses, social workers, and healthcare coaches
Criteria for Successful Completion:
- Attendance at entire session
- Submission of completed evaluation form
- Social workers: successful completion of a posttest (80% passing grade)
