Purpose:
 The goal of this webinar is to discuss the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of anxiety and anxiety disorders along the continuum of care in patients with serious and advanced illness. The presentation will use discussion of clinical cases to illustrate a practical clinical treatment approach aimed at improving the patient’s symptoms and quality of life.

Objectives:

    1. Review the prevalence and clinical presentation of anxiety and anxiety disorders in the palliative care setting
    2. Discuss assessment, diagnosis, and differential diagnosis of anxiety in advanced illness
    3. Present evidence-based and integrated treatment approaches 

Target Audience: palliative care specialists, pain specialists, primary care providers, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses with a specialty in palliative care/hospice, allied health professionals, fellows, residents, and medical students.

Criteria for Successful Completion:

    1. Attendance at entire session 
    2. Submission of completed evaluation form 
    3. Successful completion of a posttest (70% for physicians, non-physicians, and nurses; 80% for social workers)

Continuing Education Credits: 1.0

Release Date: August 13, 2018

Expiration Date: June 15, 2019 (for physicians and non-physicians); February 14, 2021 (for nurses); January 31, 2019 (for NYS Social Workers)
